Telephone unreachable and site unavailable: Socadis, one of the largest book distributors in La Belle Province, was forced to suspend “all of its activities” due to a cybersecurity problem that occurred last Sunday.
“The business is temporarily closed,” she posted on her Facebook page on Tuesday. In an update Wednesday, it said its “operations are still at a standstill” and that the business would remain closed “until further notice.”
The problem noted by Socadis, which distributes in particular the works of the publishing houses Flammarion, Fides and La Pastèque, affects all of its communication systems, rendered “inaccessible”. “We cannot take any orders,” the company said.
To its customers, it affirmed that orders invoiced on December 14 had been shipped. Regarding those invoiced on December 15, some, which could not be completed, “cannot be sent for the moment”.
In short, Socadis claims to work “in close collaboration with a team of experts in order to resolve the problem quickly and efficiently”.
