Cybersecurity is exploding. Small businesses and large groups, victims of cyberattacks, are increasingly using these services. The sector is flourishing.

It is an invisible threat that arrives without warning: the data becomes inaccessible, the computer system unusable. In Morbihan, a workshop that manufactures cords for glasses was the victim five years ago. His website hacked, impossible to order. Result: 8,000 euros loss. To prevent a new attack, she calls on her cybersecurity expert every three months. The activity of the latter has tripled with the explosion of cyberattacks since Covid-19.

A labor shortage market

The cybersecurity market is estimated at 25 billion euros by 2025. A telecom operator has made it its new priority: 200 engineers track down cybercriminals and prevent them from infiltrating. Its services are sold for several million euros to large companies, and several thousand to smaller ones. But the sector is short of hands with 14,000 vacancies. A campus has specialized in the field: young graduates will have a job on arrival, and a monthly salary between 2,000 and 3,000 euros. The government has launched an investment plan to strengthen the sector by one billion euros by 2030.
