“Our teams continue to work tirelessly to resolve the issue and have made progress restoring some of our servers,” spokeswoman Biliana Necheva said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.

Operations did not resume more than 48 hours after being halted as a precaution, Ms.me Necheva, in an email earlier today.

The Quebec company, which manufactures snowmobiles, personal watercraft and all-terrain vehicles, announced Monday morning that it was the target of “malicious computer activities” and took “immediate measures to contain the situation”.

BRP, which tapped its information technology employees, said it hired cybersecurity experts to help secure its systems and support an internal investigation.

“At this time, we are aiming to resume our manufacturing operations in Valcourt on Monday, August 15,” said Ms.me Necheva, referring to the site of BRP’s flagship plant.

The company said the suspension of its operations could delay certain transactions with customers and suppliers.

The attack adds to the headwinds blowing over the company. In the first quarter, its sales suffered from supply chain problems while more constraints in the supply of components are expected for the rest of the year.

BRP employs nearly 20,000 workers, primarily at manufacturing and distribution sites in Mexico, Canada, Austria, the United States, Finland and Australia. Its products are sold in more than 120 countries.
