Cute wrestling fight: two bears adventure on a trampoline

A resident of Coquitlam, British Columbia had quite the surprise on April 13 when two black bears ventured onto her trampoline.

A video of this funny situation was shared on the internet by Rose Waldron. At the beginning of the video, we see that a bear is inside the net while a second tries to climb it. It is after a few failures that the animal finally finds its way to join its compatriot, a little game of wrestling ensued.

As they emerge from hibernation, bears can sometimes find themselves in human-made environments. Although it can create funny moments like Mrs. Waldron experienced, these animals can cause a lot of damage in their path.

These often foraging animals can become a threat to humans. This is why, often, the BC Conservation Officer Service decides to euthanize them. Data shows that the number of black bears that are shot tends to be highest between the months of May and October.

A situation that could be avoided in many cases, according to Luci Cadman, executive director of the North Shore Black Bear Society. “If people with garages left their trash and organics inside until the morning of collection, we would see a dramatic reduction in the time bears spend in the community,” she said in a statement. January during an interview with CTV News.

The latter believes that if people knew how many bears are killed each year for this reason, they would change their behavior.
