Frouzins customs in Haute-Garonne intercepted a car last Friday with cannabis resin on board. The resale amount is estimated at nearly 15 million euros.

A 24-year-old man, driving a car transporting nearly two tonnes of cannabis resin in Toulouse, was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention, France Bleu Occitanie reported on Tuesday October 24. The estimated resale value for this quantity of drugs is between 10 and 15 million euros.
Friday October 20, Frouzins customs in Haute-Garonne were alerted by an informant that a convoy of three cars was driving at high speed towards the northern toll booth in Toulouse. It was there that officers intercepted 1.7 tonnes of cannabis resin in one of the vehicles. Still according to France Bleu, the drugs were not hidden but clearly visible since the rear seats were folded down and the drugs were piled from floor to ceiling.
The driver already convicted for a drug trafficking case
The driver of the sedan was indicted for possession, acquisition, trafficking and complicity in the importation of narcotics by an organized gang. It concerns a young man of 24, from Perpignan, who says he was mandated to drive the vehicle from point A to point B. The suspect has already been sentenced to three years in prison in a previous drug trafficking case.
The investigation is now entrusted to the JIRS of Bordeaux, the interregional jurisdiction being specialized in the fight against organized crime. In particular, it must make it possible to identify accomplices and to know the place of departure and arrival of the convoy.
