The events took place at 4:30 p.m., after leaving school. A municipal police officer was hit, Monday April 15, in Schiltigheim (Bas-Rhin), by a 17-year-old minor, during an urban rodeo with a black motocross bike. The young man’s custody, “minor just over 17 years old and unknown to our services”was extended on Tuesday, announced the Strasbourg prosecutor’s office. “He will have to explain in particular the rodeo, the refusal to comply and the violence committed against the municipal police officer”specifies the prosecution.

While a team of four municipal police officers “was in security” in front of a school group, a black motocross bike appeared “whirring engine”, writes the public prosecutor, Yolande Renzi. At the wheel of the two-wheeler, a “pilot dressed in black and helmet” then accelerated and lifted the front wheel of his vehicle, “despite the dense flow of traffic and the presence of many parents and children in front of the school”, continues Yolande Renzi.

Despite several “injunctions to stop”, the young driver fled, before losing control of his machine. The teenager was quickly arrested, adds the prosecutor, who specifies that the investigations, entrusted to the Strasbourg police station, are continuing “in order to determine the exact circumstances in which the facts took place”. The municipal police officer was injured while trying to intercept him. He was hit in the knees and was hospitalized, Franceinfo learned from a police source.
