On the occasion of the “Days of Matrimony”, feminist collectives try to highlight the cultural heritage of the creators of the past. Why are women artists still too little cited? VS’is the subject of Talk franceinfo. Every evening from 6 p.m., Manon Mella and her guests debate with Internet users on the franceinfo Twitch channel.

While women have also been pioneers in the artistic, scientific and even political fields, they are still too little mentioned. The Matrimoine days, which echo those of Heritage, are the initiative of a cultural program that seeks to make known the women artists of the past.

Manon Mella welcomes Ophélie Latil, political scientist and founder of the “Georgette Sand” collective, as well as Solène Péréda, a pianist who for several years has been working to highlight forgotten female composers, in the Talk.

Who was Marie de Gournay? Are we able to cite the names of three female composers or recognize the work of Julia Morgan, a woman architect in the 19th century? These questions are sometimes challenging. So many examples of the difficulty of keeping artists and inventors alive in our memories.

Also, from September 10 to 18, 2022, the “Matrimony Days” are held in several regions of metropolitan France. Created in 2015, at the initiative of the HF Ile de France association, these days make it possible to rediscover the cultural heritage of a region in the light of the works left by creators. In Ile-de-France, in Normandy or in the Hauts de France, routes, shows or conferences are organized by various partner collectives of this cultural event. So where are the female artists in our memories?

Join us from 6 p.m. Monday to Friday on the franceinfo Twitch channel to participate in Manon Mella’s Talk. An hour of exchange, clarification, debate around topical and social issues.
