A few days before the first round of the election, Nikson Pitaqaj, deputy director of the Off d’Avignon festival, says he is “surprised, surprised and a little shocked” to hear so little talk about culture in the presidential campaign.
The presidential campaign is coming to an end and he has not, or very little, was a question of culture. “I don’t really have a lot of explanations, I’m just surprised, surprised, a little shocked”, reacts Nikson Pitaqaj, the delegate director of the Off d’Avignon festival, guest of France Bleu Vaucluse this Monday morning.
“We tend to forget that France is a country of culturehe laments. If it is the most visited country in the world, it is also thanks to culture, in large part. And all this has been forgotten. I have no explanation. We were waiting for opening projects, we were waiting to project ourselves into the future and for it to give hope to everyone”.
