“Johnny by Johnny”, a documentary series retracing the life of the famous French singer Johnny Hallyday, will be released on Tuesday March 29 on the Netflix streaming platform. It is made by Alexander Danchin and Jonathan Gallaud. Composed of five episodes, it recounts a romantic life, out of the ordinary, since the artist’s first appearance on television and his first hit.
“Very young, he already sang very well, and very young, he knew exactly what he wanted”explains Jean-François Chenutauthor of a book on Johnny Hallyday. Between its innate showmanship and its fear of failure, the series leaves no shadow. She thus returns to the difficult childhood of the singer, abandoned by his parents and raised by his aunt. “Johnny by Johnny” also retraces the sentimental life of the artist, as much in love as he is unfaithful, and recalls certain surprising character traits, such as the fact that Johnny was a very good liar.
