Cultural summer | Summer is for playing

Because summer is also a good time to go to the theater. Hints.

Santa Clause is garbage

This classic of French theater and cinema lands on the boards in its Quebec version. The local SOS Amitié remains, however, the place of all the absurdities for the volunteers Pierre and Thérèse, caught between the Bulgarian neighbor (and his klug), the transvestite in the midst of an existential crisis and the repeated calls of an obsessed person. The high-caliber cast brings together Jean-Michel Anctil, Josée Deschênes, Mario Jean, Brigitte Lafleur, Pierre-François Legendre and Claude Prégent. André Robitaille directs. At the Maison des arts Desjardins in Drummondville, from June 30 to August 19.

In Yannicko’s kitchenthe knives fly low…

A leader who has become star media that multiplies recipe books and cooks with cauldrons in its name. Does that remind you of something ? One thing is certain, he is the character at the heart of the new play by Pierre Huet and Louis Saia (who also signs the staging). This satire is planted in the show’s recording studio Yannicko’s kitchen, where sharp knives fly low! Bobby Beshro, Sylvie Moreau, Claude Tremblay, France Parent, Émile Dufour and Joanie Guérin will share the stage. At the Théâtre du Vieux-Terrebonne, from June 28 to August 5.

The room mom offers a funny and moving camera at the heart of a Quebec family of Arab origin.

Building on their success during creation, certain pieces are back this summer. This is the case of mom, presented at Duceppe from July 14 to 29 as part of Just for Laughs. In this very touching work, 12 women of Arab origin watch over the patriarch of the family, sharing confidences, but also laughter. The stupid dinner is back in force with a summer tour that will pass through L’Assomption, Quebec, Saguenay, Gatineau and Brossard. The room Pedalobehind closed doors on the water starring Stéphane E. Roy and Marc Fournier, will stop in five venues across Quebec, including Rougemont.
