Date at the 40and Evening-Theatre Janine Sutto

The evening titled Amorous dates will bring together Mireille Deyglun, Christian Bégin, Claude Prégent and Marie-Hélène Thibault, who will perform great love scenes from the theatre, notably by Tennessee Williams, Shakespeare, Michel Tremblay, Edmond Rostand and Marie Laberge. The funds raised during this 40and Evening Theater Janine Sutto will be donated to the Montreal Association for the Intellectually Disabled. The show will be webcast from the Maison de la culture Janine-Sutto on January 31 at 7:30 p.m.

The online broadcasting platform Tënk and the Association of Documentary Filmmakers of Canada are collaborating on the presentation of the event In the vaults of the doc, a series of 10 documentary films that have never, to date, benefited from an online broadcast. The first five films selected by the partnership will be broadcast on the Tënk platform from January 28 to March 26. Among the titles are Inside Lara Roxxa 2011 documentary about a Quebec woman who, a former porn star, became a spokesperson for women with the AIDS virus after contracting it herself.

Capsules on defenders of the French language


The Lionel-Groulx Foundation puts online educational capsules entitled Our giants devoted to historical figures who have contributed, from New France to the present day, to the defense and vitality of the French language. Champlain, Camille Laurin, Dorimène Desjardins and other characters will be presented. These 45 capsules, lasting about 5 minutes each, are hosted by Laurent Turcot, Annie-Soleil Proteau, France Castel and Konrad Sioui. The first two, devoted to the King’s Daughters and Wolfred Nelson, are already accessible. The Government of Quebec and Quebecor are associated with the project.

The fourth season of sitcom acadian At the valdrague is offered on ICI Tout.tv’s Extra starting this Thursday. Written by Eugénie Beaudry with the collaboration of Marie-Josée Ouellet and Patricia Léger, who plays the main role, the eight 30-minute episodes directed by Joël A. Robichaud are centered on the Acadian community which goes “to the valdrague (i.e. which is in decline). Rita Melanson (Patricia Léger) has returned to the village of Saint-Prospère to buy the church which she has transformed into a bed and breakfast!
