10 years ago, True Detective amazed us by plunging us into the disturbing humidity of a satanic Louisiana. The anthology series filmed two more seasons before returning to the brutal cold of Alaska in the polar night. This time, we follow the discordant duo formed by the actresses Jodie Foster (with a cutting coldness) and Kali Reis (with poorly repressed indignation). After two episodes, the initial grace seems to want to return, thanks to director Issa López who infuses it with an additional horrific atmosphere. It remains to be seen whether this will last.
