In 1928, Virginia Woolf published her novel Orlando, in which a man wakes up in a woman’s body. Nearly a hundred years later, professor, philosopher and activist Paul B. Preciado revives the famous character in the documentary essay Orlando, my political biography where 26 trans and non-binary people interpret extracts from the novel, speak to the camera about their identity journey and criticize the established order. With this work mixing fiction and reality, Preciado offers an unclassifiable and deeply militant film. Indoors.
