Arriving on Quebec screens just in time for the holiday season, the French film Merry Christmas stars Franck Dubosc, Emmanuelle Devos, Danièle Lebrun (from the Comédie-Française), and Quebecer Danielle Fichaud (Aline). Between dramatic comedy and comic drama, we witness the bittersweet festivities of a bobo couple whose husband has invited two unknown old ladies for the evening. The result is uneven, but, and this is not about chauvinism, Danielle Fichaud delivers a monologue towards the end which is worth the detour alone. Indoors.
