Cultural Suggestion: “Explosion,” or destroying the patriarchy one object at a time

As soon as you enter the room, seeing the cleverly displayed bric-a-brac and the well-stocked workbench, you know that the new creation from the queer and feminist company Pleurer dans’douche is going to spank. And in fact, Blast fulfills the promises suggested by this title: the comedy with documentary and rock’n’roll overtones offers a complete demolition of patriarchy through the destruction of objects which symbolize it, from the captain’s chair to the tie. The denunciatory exercise – and not devoid of self-deprecation – provides great material for reconsidering our conceptions of patriarchy, with a smile. At the Denise-Pelletier theater until April 6.
