Corsica was once again plagued by new violent demonstrations on Sunday March 27. Clashes with the CRS took place.

Protest fires were lit on Sunday March 27 in front of a CRS barracks in Furiani (Haute-Corse), near Bastia. In the evening, there were only a dozen hooded demonstrators after clashes with the police. Earlier in the day, more than 500 people responded to the call of several independence movements and unions, a rally organized in front of the barracks, because they accuse the police of having sung the Marseillaise at the time of the funeral of the independence activist Yvan Colonna on Friday, based on videos posted on social networks.

For Corsican nationalist circles, this is a provocation. On Twitter, the Corsican deputy Jean-Félix Acquaviva denounced “pure hate” and calls the government to account. At another rally on Sunday in front of a barracks in Aspretto (Corse-du-Sud), near Ajaccio, demonstrators hung a banner on which one could read “France outside”. The report shows some minor injuries on the side of the demonstrators and the police.
