Karima Delli, president (ecologist) of the Transport Commission of the European Parliament, is packing her boxes. “It’s the last session here in Strasbourg, and therefore, we are asked to empty the offices”she explains. “I arrived at the European Parliament, I didn’t know at all how this machine worked. And today, it’s the place where we can really do big politics”believes Karima Delli.
“A machine which is nevertheless complex”
Catherine Chabaud, MEP Renew (MoDem), ranage, she too, his office. “I am a journalist by training, that was my first job. Then I was a professional navigator”, says the woman who spent five years in the European Parliament. Looking back on this experience, she said: “Perhaps I have the frustration of a machine that is nevertheless complex.” For Catherine Chabaud, the “legislative process” could be “faster”. For her part, Karima Delli affirms that the Covid has shown that the European Parliament “could do incredible things”. “I didn’t know I could stop all the planes”illustrates the president of the Parliament’s Transport Committee.
