(Zagreb) Born on New Year’s Eve just two minutes apart, two Croatian twins will have two distinct birth years and will celebrate their birthdays, one on New Year’s Eve, the other on New Year’s Eve, we learned from a hospital source.
The first was born on December 31, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. and her sister on the 1er January 2024, one minute after midnight, a manager of the maternity ward in the coastal town of Split where these babies were born said in a statement to AFP on Wednesday.
“This is a really unusual situation,” the head of the establishment, Damir Roje, told the press.
He said he had already seen, in his professional career, twins born on two different dates, but never between two years.
