Croatia joins the Schengen area, bronchiolitis epidemic in Spain

As in France, Spain is facing an epidemic of bronchiolitis, two months earlier than expected. In a Madrid hospital, there are 200 cases of bronchiolitis against 120 last year at the same time. “The infections are explained by the peak of air pollution which has led to a striking increase in admissions”, estimates Quique Bassot, pediatrician at the global health institute. The European Parliament says yes to Croatia. The former Republic of Yugoslavia joins the Schengen area, thus eliminating border controls. “We have fulfilled some 300 very precise conditions”, welcomed Davor Bozinovic, Croatian Interior Minister. Croatia will be the 20th member of the euro zone from January 1, 2023.

In Spain, astronauts receive geological training on the island of Lanzarote, where there are volcanoes. This site, which resembles the lunar surface, challenges astronauts to become effective field scientists and space explorers.
