[Critique] “Ringo EP3”, Ringo Starr

Of course he amazes us, Ringo. Listen as he types, the dear octogenarian. He’s been back to being himself since he no longer plays in tandem with another drummer (in the studio, at least): since the mid-1970s he was in sync instead of inventive. On the other hand, he hammers his “ peace and love, peace and love » that it becomes an easy solution. The theme song of this third EP in a year by our beloved irreducible? World Go Round. Title song of the previous one: Change the World. In truth, all titles are watchwords of love and peace: the most inclusive Everyone and Everything by Linda Perry (that of the 4 Non Blondes, new close to Ringo), the explicit Let’s Be Friends and the no less universal Free Your Soul. It plays solid, Nathan East and Steve Lukather are aces, and Ringo sings happily. So much the better. For him as for us: he will be even more delighted and successful at Place Bell with his All-Starrs on September 26. He will sing Boys typing like 1964, so how to complain about not memorable records. It’s Ringo!
