[Critique] “Myth Between”, Una Rose

Rosie Long Decter, half of the Montreal duo Bodywash, unveils Una Rose, her solo musical project, with a debut EP of uplifting dream pop. The six songs of Myth Between are thus a succession of sound sweets, both delicate and deep, colored by the candid voice of this artist with promising talent. The set opens with Resolutions, a track with an airy and graceful presence of synths which announces a tenderly melancholic suite, but not devoid of ambition for all that. Proof of this is with the sweet energy of Una Rose which floats on ballads like LaughingMatter, In the Garden Digging and Wanted It to Be. As for the other two pieces of the EP, more solar perhaps, Party and Either Waythey make a comforting naivety bloom in us and make us want to dance with a smile on our lips. Myth Between is a disc that, without a doubt, will seduce those who love Beach House music, with an added touch of lightness.
