[Critique] “Euphoric Recall,” Braids | The duty

The charm of experimental pop conceived by Raphaelle Standell-Preston, Taylor Smith and Austin Tufts still works, twelve years later Native Speaker, the first release of their group Braids. At the dawn of summer 2023, their fifth album, Euphoric Recall, reveals itself to the world with the exaltation of the first days, in an invigorating musical atmosphere. Between each song there is a smooth transition that makes the experience of first listening to the disc so memorable and striking that you immediately ask for more. Euphoric Recall unfolds with Supernovaan almost symphonic and lyrical orchestral title, all in languor and depth, for eight slow and pleasant minutes. Evolutionfor its part, aims to be a more danceable and catchy track, while a delicate cinematic gravity emerges from Left/Right. The rest, formed in particular by the equally excellent Millenia And Retrievergets lost then finds itself in an ultra-sparkling and energizing sound whirlwind indeed stamped Braids.
