[Critique] “Esconaquito”, Jach Ernest | The duty

Jach Ernest is a band from Bordeaux, France, formed in 2010 by Florence Besse, Jérôme Magat, Samuel Roux and Stéphane Jach. This one offers today a very nice new album, Esconaquitowhere a dozen disparate but coherent earworms follow one another. Nel Paradiso Degli Orsia somewhat nostalgic and naive ballad sung in French and Italian, clashes, for the better, with the rest of the record. Milady’s Treat and Marmalade, for example, are two other tracks deliciously tinged with New York indie rock of the 2000s with its saturated and always picky guitar melodies. We love the title Watch out John kiki, where the riffs, almost country at the beginning, coat this completely uninhibited and hilarious story! Kiki is actually a dog that needs special care, warns his mistress, while giving us the furious desire to dance at all costs. A disc that feels good!
