[Critique] “Destello de estrellas”, Ramon Chicharron

Third album in seven years for singer-songwriter Ramon Chicharron, whose trajectory commands our admiration: this guy can’t write bad songs. There are 12 delicious ones on this Destello de estrellaswhich succeeds Fisherman of suenoscrowned Album of the Year at the Gala de l’ADISQ in 2021. Directing the album himself with accomplices Eli Levinson and Funk Lion, Chicharron presses the electro-dancing argument, hopping from a Latino influence to the other, the champetaobviously, in homage to his Colombian reggaeton roots, the reggaeton on Locomotive you and the unstoppable Tus caderas, a duet with Cruzito, which has all the ingredients for a summer success. The album is set with collaborations that enhance the interest in this album, starting with the superb contigo getaway with Natasha Kanapé opening, the groove salsaAbre tu corazón with friend Boogat, the nuanced You pardoned (a production by Poirier) and this wonderful Yerbatero, in duet with Elkin Robinson, skilful blender of Caribbean music. Addictive !
