“Criticizing Israeli policy is not anti-Semitism”reacts on franceinfo Monday August 26 Olivier Faure, the First Secretary of the PS, while the Israeli bombings on Gaza have lasted for almost 11 months. “It is not anti-Semitic to say that Netanyahu is now leading a supremacist government, which is a racist government.”he insists. He also recalls that the “international bodies” indicate that Israel’s behavior “presents a genocidal risk”. “This should make us all react”laments Olivier Faure.

The First Secretary of the PS also denounces the misuse of the term in France “anti-semitism”the right and the far right constantly accusing LFI of being so. “I am quite happy for people to revolt over the statements of this or that person, but the real issue is that there is a war and that it is simply horrible, and the risk is escalation.”Olivier Faure gets carried away. He is aware that within La France Insoumise, “There are people who sometimes flirt with the lines” but assure “that each time, we are there to call to order those who could possibly cross the line”.

The First Secretary of the PS adds that during the early legislative elections, “anti-Semites, racists” were “to the extreme right”. He concludes “Now, we would like to whitewash them to better demonize La France Insoumise”.
