A man in his fifties entered an office space on Watt Avenue in Quebec City on Friday afternoon with a weapon that turned out to be fake.
The Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) was called around 2:51 p.m. to intervene in a building in the Sainte-Foy sector, concerning an armed individual who had entered an office where a person was located.
Several vehicles converged on the location accompanied by dog handlers. According to the SPVQ, the weapon in the suspect’s possession was later found to be fake. He was arrested and faces charges of threatening, carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose and kidnapping.
According to investigators, the suspect was familiar with the scene where he broke in and no one was injured during the incident.
