After the spectacular floods in Haute-Garonne this week, the prefecture announces this Friday the upcoming creation of“an exceptional interministerial commission for the recognition of a state of natural disaster”.
It will only examine requests concerning three phenomena following:
- flooding by overflow of a watercourse
- runoff flooding and associated mudslide
- torrential flood.
Mayors must submit their request for recognition of the state of natural disaster before Monday, January 17, 9 a.m.
If the municipality is recognized as affected, its inhabitants and businesses may be compensated by their insurance for the damage caused.
