In January 2021, Florent Pagny announced in a video posted on Instagram that he had lung cancer. For more than two years, the singer, who is among the favorite personalities of the French every year, has faced multiple recurrences, but today seems to be in remission. Despite illness, Florent Pagny never let himself get discouraged and always continued his professional activities. If he has just put his media career on hold, until at least 2026, the singer had a very busy 2023upon the release of his book Pagny by Florent, which has been published in more than 200,000 copies. His new album, 2bisin which he shares new duets on his greatest hits, was also a hit, and sold more than 171,000 copies according to PureCharts.
The singer does not intend to stop there. Indeed, while he is preparing a new album composed of unreleased songs that he hopes to release in 2026, Florent Pagny has just revealed a completely different project, this time television. The singer will soon be starring in a documentary film called Florent recounts Pagny, which will be directed by Emmanuelle Cosso and Erwan L’Élouet. It was the journalist Laurent Delahousse who proposed this project to the singer, who immediately accepted it. This documentary film has already been made official by France 3, since it will be broadcast this Friday, March 15 at 9:05 p.m..
