Statistics Canada reports that the annual pace of inflation last month in Canada reached its highest rate since 1991.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 4.8% year over year in December in Canada, up from the 4.7% increase in November. In Quebec, the increase last month compared to December 2020 was measured at 5.1%.
On an annual average basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 3.4% in 2021 and, after registering a rise of 0.7% in 2020.
