Members of the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) in the riding of Alain Rayes, who walked out of the party yesterday, have reportedly received a text message inviting them to call his office to demand his resignation.

“Your MP Alain Rayes has just left the Conservative Party. He decided not to fight Trudeau inflation with Pierre Poilievre’s team. Alain, call his office now and tell him to resign from his post of deputy”, is it written in a text message obtained by the QMI Agency from a relative of the newly independent deputy.

The text has not been authenticated by Pierre Poilievre’s team at the time of this writing.

Mr. Rayes was one of the key players in Jean Charest’s campaign in the leadership race, which ended in a crushing defeat for the former prime minister at the hands of Mr. Poilievre on Saturday night.

The new leader won hands down even in Mr. Rayes’ riding of Richmond-Arthabaska.

The latter left the Conservative Party yesterday, citing major differences in the way of doing politics.
