Claude Giroux collected a goal and an assist. Scott Laughton scored the other goal for the Flyers, who have won three of their last four outings.

Karel Vejmelka was excellent in the loss, blocking 31 shots.

The Coyotes (0-9-1) lost a 10e game this season and are the only NHL team without a win. They had suffered 11 straight wins to kick off the 2017-18 season. They’ll try to avoid matching that unenviable mark when they complete their six-game overseas trip on Friday in Anaheim.

The 1943-44 New York Rangers hold the NHL score with 15 losses to start the season.

Couturier fought his 7e game in the Bettman circuit.

Keith Yandle of the Flyers and Phil Kessel of the Coyotes continued their streak matches. Yandle now has 930 consecutive games on the clock. This is the longest active streak. Kessel has reached 910. This is the first time in the history of the league that two players with streaks of more than 900 games played have faced each other.
