COVID19: Quebec reports 517 new cases and 2 more deaths

Quebec reported on Tuesday 517 new cases of COVID-19 and two additional deaths.

Of the new cases, 326 were people who had not been vaccinated or received a single dose less than 14 days ago, 12 had only received a single dose at least 14 days ago and 179 had received a second dose at least seven days ago.

The province’s death toll is now 435,366 people infected and 11,548 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

200 hospitalizations were reported on Tuesday, a decrease of two compared to the day before. Forty-seven patients are in intensive care, an increase of five.

Sixteen people entered the hospital on Monday. Of these, ten were unvaccinated or had only received a single dose less than 14 days ago and six had received a second dose at least seven days ago. Of six people who entered intensive care, two were either unvaccinated or had only received a single dose less than 14 days ago and four had received a second dose at least seven days ago.

A total of 20,527 samples were taken on November 14.

With regard to vaccination, 9,345 doses were administered in Quebec in the last 24 hours.

According to the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec, 79.6% of the population has received at least one dose of vaccine against COVID-19. Among those 12 years and older, 90.9% have received at least one dose and 88.5% are adequately vaccinated.
