Quebec reports Tuesday 15 new deaths linked to COVID-19, as well as an increase in hospitalizations.
There are currently 2,148 hospitalizations, including 724 due to COVID-19, an increase of 62 compared to Monday. Sixty-one people are in intensive care, including 31 due to COVID-19, an increase of two.
A total of 6,580 healthcare workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.
The death toll now stands at 15,891.
The Ministry of Health reports 1,767 new cases, for a total of 1,140,647 since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.
A total of 264,372 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 220,747 positives. For the day on Monday, 498 tests were declared, including 427 positive.
The Ministry of Health indicates that 10,266 analyzes were carried out on Monday and that the positivity rate is 13.8%.
Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 56% received a third dose and 17% obtained a fourth dose. Among those aged 60 and over, 50% went for a fourth dose.
