The mark of 100,000 new cases of Covid-19 was crossed in the last 24 hours, Sunday, December 26. Should it be compulsory to wear a mask outdoors as in Italy and Spain because of the rapid spread of the Omicron variant?

It had been 6 months since the mask was removed outside in France. This measure sanitary goesit making a comeback? Since Friday, December 24, the mask is mandatory in the streets of Spain, Italy and Greece. In France, the prefecture of Savoie has imposed it again since Saturday, December 25 in the face of the influx of tourists.

Since a months already, the mask is required in many town centers in France, under penalty of a fine, as in Bordeaux (Gironde) or Blois (Loir-et-Cher). In Paris, it must for the moment be worn in public gatherings, markets or queues. But even in the street, some Parisians keep the mask as a precaution. Wearing the mask outdoors could be mentioned during the health defense council organized by Emmanuel Macron, Monday, December 27.
