Covid-19 is less discussed in the news and yet the virus is still circulating. While the curve had been falling for several weeks, here it is starting to rise again. Present on the set of 12/13, the doctor and journalist Damien Mascret gives us his analysis of the situation.
“It’s true that we saw that the decline was starting to slow down, but it is really going up again. There are already two departments, Brittany and Normandy, which have started to rise again”, underlines the doctor and journalist Damien Mascret present on the set of 12/13 on March 9. This situation should follow elsewhere because “If we look at the weekly incidence among children under 10, we can clearly see that the recovery has started clearly in seven regions, with +30% or even +40%”he says.
“No sixth wave but probably a rebound, that’s what the models say anyway”, continues Damien Mascret. In question, the wearing of the mask which is no longer compulsory in places at risk such as in bars. But there are still two other important advantages. “First of all, it will be less cold, we will be better ventilated and we will be outside more. (…) Secondly, vaccination has progressed well and more than 80% of people over 65 have now done their reminder”he concludes.
