The Toronto Maple Leafs have added the names of three players to the National Hockey League’s COVID-19 protocol as an outbreak in the team that began in December continues.

The Toronto squad added on Friday that the names of forwards Ondrej Kase and Nick Ritchie and defenseman Justin Holl had been added to the list.

The announcement came about 48 hours after the Maple Leafs suffered a 2-1 loss at Arizona as the Coyotes battle an outbreak of COVID-19.

A total of 20 Maple Leafs players have gone through the protocol since last month’s outbreak.

Since then, most players have taken up the collar. Forwards Mitch Marner and Pierre Engvall, who were put on protocol seven days ago, were the only Maple Leafs players on Friday morning absent due to the coronavirus.

The Maple Leafs practiced in Arizona on Friday, ahead of their game in St. Louis on Saturday.
