The number of hospitalizations for COVID-19 continues to decrease and could stabilize at an average of 90 per day within two weeks across Quebec.

These projections from the National Institute of Excellence in Health and Social Services (INESSS) are based on data collected for the week of April 23 to 29 on hospitalizations related to COVID-19.

The Institute noted a decrease of -17% in the number of new hospital cases reported for the second consecutive week, stabilizing at 1,280, while the age group of septuagenarians saw an increase of 8% compared to the week. previous.

According to INESSS data, we anticipate, for the next two weeks, a decrease in regular beds occupied by COVID patients with an average of 1327 beds with a confidence interval between 1214 and 1450.

In their latest update, INESSS experts also project a decline in intensive care hospitalizations for COVID patients for the same period, with an occupancy of a quarter of level 1 beds defined by the Ministry of Health, i.e. 47 beds.
