COVID-19: slight increase in hospitalizations in Quebec

The number of people hospitalized due to COVID-19 increased on Monday in Quebec and remained the same as the day before in Ontario.

Thus, 1,002 Quebecers occupied a hospital bed on Monday, 13 more than the day before, while the number of people in intensive care remained relatively stable (48, +3). In the past 24 hours, the province has also recorded five additional deaths from the virus.

Among people with access to screening centers, there are 907 new infections, while 433 positive tests were self-reported during the day on Sunday.

On the other side of the Ottawa River, the number of hospitalizations in Ontario remained the same as the day before (551) and 181 people are still in intensive care (-1).

Monday’s toll also lists four more deaths in Ontario, as 1,217 new cases of COVID-19 were reported among people with access to PCR testing.
