COVID-19 | Seven Sharks and Boughner players on the sidelines

(San José) Seven San Jose Sharks players and head coach Bob Boughner were signed into NHL protocol regarding COVID-19 on Saturday.

In addition to Boughner, forwards Andrew Cogliano, Jonathan Dahlen and Matt Nieto are thus on the sidelines, as are defenders Marc-Édouard Vlasic, Erik Karlsson, Jake Middleton and Radim Simek.

The club did not say whether there was a positive test in one or more of these people.

Due to these protocol entries, the start of Saturday night’s game against Winnipeg has been delayed by half an hour.

Center and captain Logan Couture is also absent, indisposed, but it is not related to the coronavirus.

Assistant John MacLean leads San Jose against the Jets.

Mike Ricci, development instructor, has been added to the staff behind the bench.

San Jose called on five players from Barracuda, their AHL affiliate: John Leonard, Nick Merkley, Jaycob Megna, Nicolas Meloche and Ryan Merkley.
