The Quebec government reported on Wednesday ten new deaths linked to COVID-19 and a slight increase in hospitalizations.
Of the ten new deaths, none have occurred in the past 24 hours. Three deaths were recorded between two and seven days ago and seven more than seven days ago.
With the 1,540 hospitalizations reported on Wednesday, there is an increase of 20 compared to the previous day. Of this total, 516 hospitalizations are directly related to COVID-19.
In intensive care there are 37 patients, including 19 for COVID-19, an increase of one compared to Tuesday.
The Ministry of Health has also reported 915 new cases, although the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority groups.
According to the Health-Quebec dashboard published on Twitter, the positivity rate was 8.5%.
There were 3,592 healthcare workers absent for COVID-related reasons, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.
For the day on Monday, 185 rapid tests were self-reported, including 158 positive. The total stands at 289,375 self-reported rapid tests so far, including 242,522 positives.
In terms of vaccination, 21,874 doses administered are added, for a total of more than 21 million doses administered in Quebec.
