These 20 new deaths bring the daily average calculated over seven days to 12. The trend is thus down 34% over a period of one week.

In the health network, there was an increase of five hospitalizations linked to the disease on Tuesday, which results from 79 new entries and 74 exits. To date, 1,082 patients therefore remain hospitalized in connection with COVID-19, 66 of whom are still in intensive care, an increase of five cases in 24 hours in this regard (eight entries, three exits).

Thus, the number of people hospitalized increases for a second consecutive day. That said, the 1082 patients still represent a drop of 14% over one week. The 66 people in intensive care also represent a 14% drop.

The authorities also reported 1,023 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the daily average to 1,074. The trend is thus down 7% in the last seven days. However, it should be remembered that the cases are far less representative due to the limits which continue to restrict the number of tests carried out.

On Sunday, Public Health nevertheless carried out 11,166 screening tests, a relatively stable figure compared to the weekly average. The positivity rate is currently 8.3%. So far, more than 108,960 rapid tests have been “self-declared” on the platform of the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS), of which more than 85,230 presented a positive diagnosis of COVID-19.

On the vaccination side, the Quebec campaign continues to slow down. On Monday, just 3,640 additional doses were administered, of which more than 2,360 were third doses. Quebec administers an average of 6,300 doses daily. Including people vaccinated outside the province, the province has still administered more than 18.5 million doses since the start of the pandemic.

  • Percentage of Quebecers who received a dose: 86.6%
  • Percentage of Quebecers who received two doses: 82.7%
  • Percentage of Quebecers who received three doses: 49.4%
