Millions of COVID-19 self-tests will be distributed to high school, adult general education and vocational training students over the next few days.
The Ministry of Health made the announcement on Thursday, stating that this measure aims to reduce the risk of outbreaks in schools.
A total of 3.5 million rapid tests will be given to students so that they can use them at home in the event of the appearance of symptoms of COVID-19. Deliveries to educational organizations will begin shortly, says the ministry.
Primary students have already had two distributions of self-tests and a third is scheduled for later in February.
Other self-tests are only available at school and cannot be taken home. They are used to test students and staff who develop symptoms associated with COVID-19 during the school day.
