Quebec reported 39 new deaths from COVID-19 on Wednesday, in addition to a significant increase in hospitalizations.
It also reports 14,486 new cases, a number which however reflects only cases detected by PCR tests, to which access is limited.
The province’s official death toll now stands at 680,308 people infected and 11,820 deaths.
On Wednesday, 1,750 hospitalizations were reported, an increase of 158 compared to the day before. Of these patients, 191 are in intensive care, an increase of six.
A total of 48,038 samples were taken on Tuesday, with a positivity rate of 28.1%.
Regarding vaccination, 92,506 doses were administered in the last 14 hours in Quebec.
According to the National Institute of Public Health, 84.6% of the population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Among those 12 years and over, 91.7% have received at least one dose and 89.5% are adequately vaccinated.
