COVID-19: Quebec reports 30 new deaths

Quebec adds 30 new deaths to its balance sheet on Tuesday, while hospitalizations are down.

There are currently 1,742 hospitalizations, a decrease of 34 compared to Monday. Of these patients, 107 are in intensive care, a decrease of 12.

The death toll now stands at 13,886.

The Ministry of Health reports 1,438 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 913,901 people infected since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 91,466 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 71,296 positives. For the day on Monday, 554 tests were declared, including 410 positive.

The Ministry of Health says 15,984 tests were carried out on Monday and the positivity rate is 7.9%.

As for vaccination, 15,030 doses have been administered in Quebec in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health, 91% of people aged 5 and over have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 86% have received at least two doses and 50% have received a third dose.
