The computer platform that allows Quebecers to make an appointment in order to be able to undergo a screening test for COVID-19 is still not working, Thursday morning.
Just like the day before, access to the platform displays a message stating that it is in a maintenance period and that it will be available shortly, without giving details. People are encouraged to retry their registration later.
The inability to make an appointment contributes to the increase in attendance at walk-in screening centers. For example, a few hours before dawn on Thursday, many people lined up at the Chauveau screening clinic located on the street of the same name on the territory of the Integrated University Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) of the East of the Island of Montreal.
On Wednesday, the computer problems of the screening platform manifested themselves when hundreds of appointments were registered for a period of a few minutes at the same screening center. The staff in place could not respond to such a crowd and as a result, several registrants had to turn back without being tested.
Long queues had formed in front of many screening centers in Quebec.
The Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services advises that going to a testing center should only be considered by people with symptoms of COVID-19 and who do not have rapid tests.
