COVID-19: more than 900 new cases and five additional deaths in Quebec

The vaccination campaign for children aged 5 to 11 is timely in the provinces, as cases of COVID-19 continue to increase across the country.

As of November 25 at 9 am, more than 163,000 appointments had already been made in Quebec for the vaccination of children 5 to 11 years old.

The province also reported 902 new infections in the past 24 hours, a new high since September, while 882 cases had been identified the day before. Five new deaths were also added to the toll on Thursday.

Hospitalizations, however, remained stable (201, -1), while 45 people were in intensive care (-1).

On the Ontario side, where the vaccination of the youngest has also started, 87,500 appointments were made on Tuesday when the appointment was opened.

In parallel, the most populous province in the country added 748 cases (against 591 the day before) and five deaths to its balance sheet, while hospitalizations have decreased (257, -32).

In the Maritime provinces, Nova Scotia reported 22 new cases and one death and New Brunswick added 95.

Manitoba has reported 183 new cases and eight additional deaths, while Saskatchewan has reported 96 cases and one death. The Yukon has also updated its numbers (+15).

Alberta reported 379 new cases of COVID-19 and one additional death on Thursday while British Columbia recorded 424 and three additional deaths.
