The number of hospitalizations in Quebec continued to increase on Wednesday, while a small drop was seen in intensive care.

Quebec has thus reported a total of 1,540 hospitalizations related to COVID-19, which represents an increase of 61 compared to the previous day. However, three people left intensive care, for a total of 66 people.
La Belle Province reported 12 new deaths and 3,761 infections detected after a test at a screening center. In the last 24 hours, 1481 positive rapid tests have also been self-reported.
Remember that appointments for this dose will be available on Monday for this age category in Quebec. People aged 70 and over have already had access to it since Wednesday.

Elsewhere in the country
On the other side of the Ottawa River, hospitalizations recorded a slight decrease with 1074 patients (-17). The same trend was observed in intensive care, which has five fewer occupied beds, for a total of 168.
The most populous province also reported 32 additional deaths and 3,444 more cases among Ontarians who have access to a PCR test.
The Ford government also announced on Wednesday that Ontarians aged 60 will be eligible for the 4th dose of the COVID-19 vaccine starting Thursday.
