The 34 new deaths reported on Saturday bring the daily average calculated over seven days to 26. The trend is up 38% over one week.

The drop of 39 hospitalizations brings the total number of people hospitalized to 2,371, an increase of 11% over seven days.

In intensive care, there is one more patient than on Friday, but the 89 patients represent a drop of 15% over one week.

The number of people in hospital is likely to continue to rise in the coming days, with the number of admissions continuing to outpace discharges. On average, there are 34 more patients every day.

The 2,101 new cases reported on Saturday bring the daily average to 2,152. The trend is thus down 25% over seven days. These figures likely reflect only a portion of total infections, due to limited access to PCR screening tests.

Meanwhile, the vaccination campaign continues to pick up speed. Quebec currently administers an average of 28,000 doses of vaccine per day, mainly fourth doses. To date, 86.8% of Quebecers have received at least one dose, but only 51.2% have obtained three. And 7.1% of Quebecers now have four doses, mainly people aged 60 and over.
