The rate of contamination has been on the rise for several days. The numbers are unequivocal: Saturday March 19, there were 98,104 new cases, almost twice as many as 15 days ago. The increase in infections is linked to the very rapid spread of BA.2a new variant of Omicron. It is the majority in France, and no one is immune. “It is quite possible to have been infected two months ago, and to be reinfected now by BA.2“, explains Lionel Barrandpresident of the union of medical biologists.
