With the rise in Covid-19 cases, many employees are absent this return to school. How do public and private companies manage these unforeseen events?

Public transport, administrations, businesses … All these sectors are facing disruptions due to cases of Covid-19. To be able to open his restaurant, Stéphane Malchow had to call on a former apprentice. “He will stay the week, the time of the quarantine of the party leader who tested positive”, he explains.

In a company that repairs treadmills, the boss must also comply with the rule of mandatory teleworking, at least three days a week. “The administrative functions, that’s where it’s going to require a lot of reorganization. Three days seems a bit much”, he says. At the SNCF, with 80 cases of Covid-19 out of 3,700, 10% of the TER have been deleted. For a trade unionist, this situation could have been avoided, but would be linked to a desire to reduce costs.
